Title: How integrative body-mind training (IBMT) changes the body and mind

Abstract: Recent studies indicate short-term meditation (IBMT) improves attention and self-regulation, reduces the stress hormone (cortisol) and improves immunoactivity (sIgA). How about the underlying mechanism? This talk will address the central and autonomic nervous system interaction before, during, and after meditation using imaging and physiological data and explain the possible mechanism. We propose the ''state change'' hypothesis, and also will discuss future research directions.
