Scott Frey - Director
Web Address: http://freylab.uoregon.edu/
Email: shfrey@uoregon.edu
Comments: Scott received a Masters degree from
Harvard in 1987 in Human Development and a Ph.D. from
Cornell in Experimental Psychology in 1993. His current
work explores the neural bases of perception and action
in humans, with particular attention to complex manual
skills such as prehension, tool use and gesture. A
major focus of this work is to advance our understanding
of how brain organization is affected by upper limb
paralysis or amputation as well as the role that cognitive
training and/or use of prostheses might play in functional
reorganization. His approach is to seek convergent
evidence through psychophysical, functional (fMRI)
and structural MRI, and MRI-guided transcranial magnetic
stimulation (TMS) studies of healthy and patient populations.

Email: jolinda@uoregon.edu
Comments: Jolinda received a Ph.D. in experimental
condensed matter physics from the University of Oregon
in 1997, and has worked at the Lewis Center since
2002. Her interests include software development,
image analysis, and RF coil design. She is the author

Email: frogs@uoregon.edu
Comments: Earning an Associate of Science from
the Oregon Institute of Technology and a BS and MS
from the University of Oregon, Scott has 23 years
experience in diagnostic imaging including radiography
and Computerized tomography. The last 13 years have
focused solely on MRI. His professional interests
include functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI),
MicroMRI, and MRI coil design as well as MRI safety.
Off campus, you can find Scott cycling, hiking, cooking/eating,
rock/fossil hunting, and gardening.

:. Sergei
Bogdanov - Research Assistant
Web Address: http://lcni.uoregon.edu/~svb
Email: sbogdano@uoregon.edu
Comments: Sergei received his Masters Degree
from Arizona State University in 1997. He trained
in mathematical modeling of human perception and
categorization, experimental design and statistical
data analysis both at ASU and University of Texas
in Austin. During the last few years, he developed
web database applications, most recently at Zebrafish
International Resource Center.
His mission at LCNI is to facilitate
a wide variety of research projects in cognitive
neuroscience. He will be interacting with researchers
on experimental design and MRI/fMRI data collection/analysis,
developing custom software for image analysis, and
training to run LCNI's Siemens 3T research-dedicated
scanner.
In his spare time, he spends time
outdoors with his family, plays (European) football,
and dabbles in stock market analysis in the unlikely
case his current employment takes too long in making
him rich beyond his imagination.

Chuck Theobald - System Administrator
Web Address: http://lcni.uoregon.edu/~chuck
Email: chuckt@uoregon.edu
Comments: Chuck has been working with computers
since 1989, most recently as the computer guy for
two programs within the University's Department of
Education. In September 2002, he joined the LCNI to
fulfill a lifelong goal of supporting researchers
investigating the leading edge of hard science and
to work with really cool technology. He is currently
studying undergraduate physics, and hopes one day
to actually understand most of what his co-workers
are talking about. He enjoys Nordic skiing, motorcycling,
bicycle commuting in the rain, and, of necessity,
creative solutions in home improvement.
